Itinerary

Day 1 UK - Munich

Fly to Munich where on arrival we will transfer you to Passau, located at the confluence of the Danube, surrounded by wooded hills creating a scenic back drop to the city's towers, spires and red-roofed houses. Join your Nicko Cruises ship and after time to settle into your cabin, meet your travelling companions over a welcome drink prior to dinner this evening. Meals included: D

Day 2 Ybbs - Vienna

Arrival into Ybbs for a morning at leisure. Back onboard for lunch, enjoy views of the Danube valley while cruising through the UNESCO World Heritage region of Wachau en route to Vienna. Arriving after dinner for a free evening to visit the city. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 3 Vienna

After breakfast enjoy a guided walking city tour of Vienna, Austria's stylish capital and largest city, characterised by its abundance of beautiful baroque buildings and historic association with music. View the Gothic St Stephen's Cathedral which casts its shadows through narrow cobblestone streets and the Imperial Palace of Hofburg. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 4 Budapest

Enjoy a morning onboard as we cruise to Budapest, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Stretching out on both sides of the river, 'The Queen of the Danube' is truly breath-taking. The abundance of sights is immense and there is no other city able to integrate the Danube into the cityscape quite like Budapest does. After lunch onboard, enjoy a guided walking tour where you will visit the castle district for the fisherman's bastion and Matthias Church, as well as discovering more about daily life at the market hall. You will also make a photo stop at Gellert Hill, for some impressive views over the city and river. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 5 Budapest

A morning at leisure to further explore Budapest or just relax onboard before the cruise continues this afternoon. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 6 Bratislava

Arrive into Bratislava this morning, close to the border between Austria and Hungary. Enjoy a morning city tour starting with a scenic drive to the most iconic landmarks in the Slovakian capital, the Castle, or Hrad which has some wonderful views across the city. This imposing fortress was once the home of many Hungarian kings and remains a place filled with myths and legends. The beautifully restored old Town of Bratislava has some wonderful baroque buildings to discover, such as the Redoubt, the National Theatre, the Town Hall, alongside palaces dating from the city's Imperial and Royal era. Day 7 Pochlarn - Melk

Relax onboard as we cruise to Pochlarn, situated in Lower Austria. Once docked, we take a visit the Benedictine Melk Abbey. For more than a thousand years the Abbey has been the spiritual and cultural centre of Austria, towering above the city on the banks of the Danube. The original Benedictine abbey here was destroyed by fire in 1297 but after being rebuilt, went on to survive both famine and plague throughout the rest of the Middle Ages. Return to the cruise and enjoy dinner whilst sailing back to Passau. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 8 Munich - UK

After breakfast, disembark from the cruise in Passau and transfer to Munich airport for your flight to the UK. Meals included: B

The MS Belvedere is a sophisticated, and comfortable ship, perfect to experience the rivers of Europe. Facilities include a spacious sun deck and restaurant, you can also enjoy relaxing moments in the spa with its sauna and whirlpool. All cabins are stylishly and comfortably appointed with private facilities, TV, hairdryer, safe and telephone. Cabins are approx. 14.5 m² in size, and those on the main deck have large, non-opening portholes. Your holiday price is based on a main deck cabin. Cabins on the middle and upper decks boast French Balcony-style panoramic windows.

Deposit information

When you book a holiday, you will be asked to pay a deposit, this will be made clear at the time of booking. In most cases we will charge the following deposit amount;

  • UK Holidays - £150 per person
  • European Holidays - £200 Per person
  • Worldwide Holidays - £250 or 10% whichever is the greater

On some holidays we may charge a slightly higher deposit, to cover any costs we have to pay immediately to secure your booking with our suppliers. This will be made clear at the time of booking.

If you choose a tour that is within 84 days of departure you will need to pay the full balance when you book.

Our cancellation policy

If you decide to cancel your confirmed booking you must notify us (or your travel agent) in writing, as soon as possible. Since we incur costs in cancelling your arrangements, you will have to pay the applicable cancellation charges up to the maximum shown below.

  • More than 75 days before departure - Loss of deposit only
  • 43 - 74 days - 50% of tour price
  • 29 - 42 days - 75% of tour price
  • 15 - 28 days - 90% of tour price
  • Day of Departure - 14 days - 100% of tour price

For some destinations, it is not always discernable that a visa is required for entry at the border.  For example, for some customers, to travel to the United States, an ESTA may be required. For Canada, an ETA and to India, an e-visa may be needed. Please do check your requirements to avoid any unnecessary cost and delays.
