Itinerary

Day 1 London - Brussels - Cologne

Make your own way to London St Pancras for the Eurostar to Brussels. On arrival transfer by coach to Cologne where you will join your Nicko Cruises ship. After time to settle into your cabin, meet your travelling companions over a welcome drink prior to dinner onboard. Meals included: D

Day 2 Andernach

Awake this morning in Andernach, one of Germany's oldest towns. Take a tour to the Andernach Geyser., possibly the highest cold water Geyser reaching around 60 metres. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 3 Mainz

A morning in Mainz, where you can visit at your leisure. Alternatively, you can take the optional tour that explores this wonderful Rhine city (book and pay onboard the cruise). After lunch on board, the cruise will continue and pass by the famous Loreley Rock, where legend tells the story of the beautiful and melancholy siren whose song enchanted passing sailors. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 4 Germersheim

A morning at leisure to explore Germersheim, alternatively, take the optional sightseeing tour to Speyer, one of Germany's oldest city (book and pay onboard the cruise) . Return to the cruise and enjoy the rest of the afternoon relaxing onboard. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 5 Strasbourg

Enjoy a tour of Strasbourg, the border town along the Rhine, visit the historical centre, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the picturesque quarter where tanners once dried leather and furs in the open lofts of the well-preserved half-timbered houses. Continue by coach and pass the Rhine Palace, National Library and the Opera. A guided walking tour through the fascinating narrow streets of 'Petit France' follows - see the historic guesthouses, delicatessen shops and elegant boutiques before arriving at the Cathedral of Notre-Dame, where the astronomical clock chimes on the hour, bringing the different figures to life. Day 6 Mannheim - Rudesheim

Awake this morning in Mannheim. Located at the confluence of the Rhine and Neckar Rivers, the Mannheim Baroque Palace is worth a visit and it has lovely shopping and parks to explore. A sightseeing tour to Heidelberg, nestled between the Neckar River and the foothills of the Odenwald forest is included today. The castle, residence of the Palatine Counts who ruled the Palatinate of the Rhine for over 400 years, rivalled the splendour of the imperial courts of Vienna and Prague. Return to the cruise and enjoy the rest of the afternoon relaxing onboard. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 7 Koblenz

Enjoy a leisurely morning cruising to Koblenz and take a tour of the city. Since the 10th century the cityscape has been characterised by the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and the equestrian monument to Emperor Wilhelm I. Enjoy breath taking views of the 'Deutsches Eck' (German Corner) on a cable car ride up to the fortress, followed by a guided walking tour through the city centre. Meals included: B,L,D

Day 8 Cologne - Brussels - London

After breakfast onboard we'll disembark the ship and transfer to Brussels rail station for the Eurostar to London St Pancras. Meals included: B

The large panoramic windows of the Rhein Symphonie makes it perfect for enjoying the views of 'Father Rhine'. The vast sun deck is perfect for relaxing and taking in the panorama before heading down for a drink in the light and airy salon and bar. The large restaurant serves international and regional specialities. The cabins are approx. 14.5 m² in size and are stylishly and comfortably furnished with individually adjustable air-conditioning/heating, private facilities, satellite TV, telephone, hairdryer and safe. The main deck cabins have windows that do not open. Main deck aft cabins are approx. 11.5 m² in size with windows that do not open, have a single fold-out bed and sofa bed. Your holiday price is based on a main deck cabin. The cabins on the middle deck have large panorama windows that open. All upper deck cabins have floor-to-ceiling panorama windows that open (French balcony).

Average group size of our tours

Our holiday group sizes do vary from tour to tour - but we have an average group size of 26. Big or small, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to socialise with your fellow travellers. So, whether you fancy making friends at mealtimes or feel like being friendly by the pool, you’re guaranteed a great time whatever size your group is.

Deposit information

When you book a holiday, you will be asked to pay a deposit, this will be made clear at the time of booking. In most cases we will charge the following deposit amount;

  • UK Holidays - £150 per person
  • European Holidays - £200 Per person
  • Worldwide Holidays - £250 or 10% whichever is the greater

On some holidays we may charge a slightly higher deposit, to cover any costs we have to pay immediately to secure your booking with our suppliers. This will be made clear at the time of booking.

If you choose a tour that is within 84 days of departure you will need to pay the full balance when you book.

Our cancellation policy

If you decide to cancel your confirmed booking you must notify us (or your travel agent) in writing, as soon as possible. Since we incur costs in cancelling your arrangements, you will have to pay the applicable cancellation charges up to the maximum shown below.

  • More than 75 days before departure - Loss of deposit only
  • 43 - 74 days - 50% of tour price
  • 29 - 42 days - 75% of tour price
  • 15 - 28 days - 90% of tour price
  • Day of Departure - 14 days - 100% of tour price

It is important to remember that passport, visa and health requirements can change before departure; therefore, we recommend you regularly familiarise yourself with the latest requirements before you travel. If you cannot travel because you have not complied with any passport/entry/immigration requirements, we are unable to accept any responsibility.

For some destinations, it is not always discernable that a visa is required for entry at the border.  For example, for some customers, to travel to the United States, an ESTA may be required. For Canada, an ETA and to India, an e-visa may be needed. Please do check your requirements to avoid any unnecessary cost and delays.
